Who is eligible to join a Sights Travel FAM trip?
Our familiarization programs are exclusively for qualified travel advisors, tour operators, and industry professionals. To maintain the quality of our educational groups, we require a valid IATA, CLIA, or equivalent professional travel credential and a brief overview of your business focus.
Are these journeys fully hosted or self funded?
Sights Travel offers both fully hosted and partially self funded itineraries depending on the destination and seasonal program. Generally, our FAM trips include all land arrangements, luxury accommodation, meals, and park fees, while participants are responsible for international airfare and personal expenses.
What is the primary focus of these educational trips?
Unlike a standard vacation, these trips are designed for professional development. The focus is on lodge inspections, logistical assessments, and destination training. You will gain the firsthand knowledge needed to explain the nuances of travel across Kenya, Tanzania, and the wider East African region to your clients.
Can I bring a companion or family member?
To ensure the best learning environment and professional networking for all participants, our FAM trips are usually for industry professionals only. However, some specific programs may allow a spouse or travel partner at a separate professional rate if space is available.
What documentation and health protocols are required?
Travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months beyond their departure date with sufficient blank pages. We will provide specific guidance on visas and health requirements like yellow fever certification for Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda well in advance of your departure.
